A three-axis DC-response accelerometer measures acceleration along three nominally orthogonal axes while retaining a response to constant or slowly varying inputs. That capability distinguishes it from an AC-coupled vibration measurement path. The installed sensor also responds to the gravity component along its axes, so interpreting motion requires an appropriate coordinate and baseline treatment.
