A Piston Compressor is a positive-displacement compressor that uses pistons driven by a crankshaft to deliver gases at high pressure.

Clearance volume, valve performance, cooling and speed influence delivered gas. Multiple stages and intercooling serve different pressure duties. Oil-free and lubricated configurations also require separate material and maintenance review.

What turns activity into demand

Valve and clearance behaviour separate geometric displacement from useful gas delivery. Intermittent and continuous operation have different thermal requirements. Keep compressor units, receivers and service parts distinct. Swept cylinder volume is not delivered flow at the working pressure.
