A solar backsheet is the last layer at the bottom of the solar PV panel and is typically made of a polymer or a combination of polymers. One of the lessvisible but essential components of a solar panel to their long-term performance is backsheets.

Weathering, adhesion and mechanical behaviour need to be maintained as an assembly. Fluoropolymer-based and other constructions differ. A backsheet is distinct from the encapsulation layer inside the module.

What turns activity into demand

Solar capacity does not convert directly into polymer-backsheet area. Module dimensions and the share using a backsheet provide the bridge. Separate film layers, completed backsheets and modules. Modules using rear glass do not automatically require the same backsheet area.
