X-Ray Foreign Object Detection Equipment refers to industrial in-line inspection systems that use transmission X-ray imaging to identify unintended high-density contaminants or structural anomalies inside products or packaging during manufacturing and packaging processes. A typical system integrates an X-ray tube with collimation and radiation shielding, a product handling mechanism such as a conveyor and synchronized reject device, one or more solid-state detectors (line-scan or flat-panel), and an enclosed cabinet with safety interlocks and dose control, connected to a dedicated image acquisition and processing unit that performs real-time grey-level analysis, density profiling, and pattern recognition against a reference product model. Based on differential attenuation of X-rays as a function of material thickness and effective atomic number, the equipment can detect metallic fragments, glass, ceramics, stones, bones and many dense plastics within sealed packs, cans, pouches or bulk flow, and is widely deployed in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, personal care and general consumer goods production lines, often with additional functions such as mass estimation, fill-level and shape verification, and detection of missing, broken or misassembled components.
