Starch is a polysaccharide, a polymeric carbohydrate consisting of a large number of glucose units linked by glycosidic bonds. Pure starch is a white, tasteless, odorless powder, insoluble in cold water or alcohol, with the molecular formula (C6H10O5)n. Starch can be divided into amylose (sugar starch) and amylopectin (glutinous starch) due to the difference in the coiled helical structure of intramolecular hydrogen bonds. The former is an unbranched helical structure; the latter is composed of 24~30 glucose residues connected end to end by α-1,4-glycosidic bonds, and the branched chains are α-1,6-glycosidic bonds. Starch processing and products are obtained by using corn, sorghum, wheat and other grains and potato, sweet potato, cassava and other potato crops as raw materials, soaking and grinding, and separating and removing non-starch substances such as protein, fat and cellulose. Starch products are products made of starch as raw material through mechanical, chemical or biochemical processing. The raw materials used in potato starch processing equipment are basically sweet potatoes, potatoes, kudzu root, plantain taro, cassava and so on. Mechanical equipment manufacturers also have starch equipment production lines suitable for various raw materials, such as sweet potato starch processing equipment, potato starch processing equipment, arrowroot starch equipment, plantain taro starch processing equipment, cassava flour equipment, etc., all of which are targeted according to the processing The plant characteristics of the materials are researched and manufactured, and their crushing performance and filtration details are quite different, so they cannot be processed by the same equipment. There are big differences in appearance, volume, hardness, starch content, impurity content, and difficulty of crushing. The processing characteristics of sweet potatoes and potatoes are similar, with high starch content, easy crushing and easy extraction; kudzu root and banana taro have large starch granules, high hardness, difficult crushing, and difficult extraction. The processing technology of wheat starch is much more complicated than that of potato starch. . Wheat starch is mainly used in food as thickener, gelling agent, binder, or stabilizer, etc., and some use it as starch sugar (a kind of edible sugar, but healthier than sucrose). Sweet potato starch can be used for processing biological Diesel oil; industrial processing: such as food packaging paper (bags), clothing fabrics, natural lead-free fabrics, etc.; pharmaceutical processing: such as 85% of western medicine tablets are starch, monosodium glutamate, human amino acids, veterinary amino acids, modified starch (extracted carotene , sugar substitute syrup), food coloring, etc.; green food, organic food processing and utilization of raw materials.
