A solar panel is a device that converts sunlight into electrical energy, also known as a photovoltaic panel or solar photovoltaic panel. It consists of multiple solar cells that convert sunlight energy into DC electricity through the photoelectric effect. Solar panels are typically made of semiconductor materials such as silicon and covered with clear anti-reflective glass to increase light absorption efficiency. The working principle of solar panels is based on the photoelectric effect, that is, when sunlight shines on the panel, photons excite electrons in the semiconductor material, causing them to break away from the atoms and form an electric current. These electrons flow through circuits in the panels to create voltage and current, which creates usable electrical energy. This electrical energy can be supplied directly for domestic, industrial and commercial purposes, or it can be stored in batteries for later use. Solar panels are one of the core components of solar power generation systems. They are widely used in various places, including rooftops, solar photovoltaic power stations, spacecrafts and power supply in remote areas. Solar cells are installed on the front of the panel, and the type of cells can be determined based on different colors and appearances. Including polycrystalline silicon, monocrystalline silicon, amorphous silicon, etc. Due to differences in material technology, monocrystalline silicon has a higher conversion rate than polycrystalline silicon. Monocrystalline silicon is a single crystal of silicon, which is a crystal with a basically complete lattice structure. Polycrystalline silicon is a form of elemental silicon. Comparing the two materials, the purity of silicon in monocrystalline silicon is higher, so the conversion efficiency of monocrystalline silicon solar panels is higher. Similarly, the price is higher than polycrystalline silicon. The average conversion rate of monocrystalline silicon can reach 22%, while that of polycrystalline silicon is 18%. From the appearance point of view, the eye side of monocrystalline silicon cells is dark blue and almost black, while the eye side of polycrystalline silicon cells is blue.
