Polycarbonate (Polvcarbonate, PC) is a type of polymer material containing carbonate groups (-[0-R-0-CO1-, shaped like C0, carbonate) in the molecular chain. Electronic appliances and automobile sheets are the main consumption areas of polycarbonate. According to the different structures of the ester group, polycarbonate can be divided into the following three categories: (1) Aliphatic polycarbonate: low melting point, high solubility, strong hydrophilicity, poor thermal stability; (2) Alicyclic polycarbonate: compared with aliphatic, the melting point is increased, the solubility is decreased, and the mechanical strength is still insufficient; ( 3) Aromatic polycarbonate: It has the best comprehensive performance among the three types of polycarbonate, among which bisphenol A type is currently the most widely used structural type. According to the production process, polycarbonate can be divided into phosgene method and non-phosgene method. The phosgene method can be subdivided into lipid exchange method, solution phosgene method, interfacial polycondensation method, etc. Compared with the non-phosgene method, the phosgene method has the advantages of mature production technology, stable product performance, and excellent product quality, but it also has the disadvantages of relatively low environmental protection. Compared with the phosgene method, the non-phosgene method has the advantages of simple process without using highly toxic raw materials, little environmental pollution, methanol and phenol can be recycled in the production process, and at the same time, it produces more economical by-products, which can reduce production costs. The main cost of polycarbonate includes raw material cost and manufacturing cost, of which raw material cost accounts for between 65% and 75%. Polycarbonate is a downstream product of the petrochemical industry, among which bisphenol A accounts for more than 70% of the raw material cost. Therefore, the overall price fluctuation of the upstream "crude oil-pure benzene-phenol-bisphenol A" industrial chain has a greater impact on the profits of polycarbonate. This report conducts research and statistics based on phosgene method and non-phosgene method.
