n-pentanol, also known as 1-pentanol, is an alcohol compound with the chemical formula C5H12O. It has two isomers, namely 1-pentanol and 2-pentanol. The structural difference between these two isomers lies in the position of the carbon atom to which their hydroxyl group is attached. n-pentanol is usually used as a solvent, reaction intermediate and chemical synthesis raw material.
