They are typically supplied as soluble or dispersible cobalt, manganese, zirconium, calcium, zinc, iron, lithium, potassium, strontium, barium or mixed metal compounds in organic solvent, water dispersible or specialty carrier systems. In formulated coatings and inks, metal driers promote peroxide formation and decomposition, hydrogen abstraction and radical crosslinking, reducing set, surface and through dry time while controlling hardness development, film uniformity and final cure performance.
